Ingrown hair is an annoying problem that faces many women and negatively affects the look of their skin. Ingrown hairs appear within days after a close shave, waxing or any type of hair removal. Ingrown hair is the hair that grows back into the skin instead of growing out straight.

These hair curls back into the same hair follicle or beside it forming a tiny loop. And sometimes they appear as small bumps on the skin resembling pimples and may have a red or white head. This problem can appear in any part of your body including legs, underarms and bikini line. It is very effective to exfoliate your skin before shaving with the use of loofah or even your hands. Apply a moisturizer to your skin when you are done.

Antiseptic: It is important to apply an antiseptic lotion to your skin each time after bath and exfoliating your skin. And it is effective also to apply antiseptic lotion after hair removal procedure because it helps you to avoid ingrown hair infection and prevent future occurrences.

: When you remove your unwanted hair usually you find that the small hair won’t be removed or will be half-removed. That is why waiting for proper hair growth is better because it allows you to remove the entire hair easily. This procedure is always recommended while waxing. Choose high-quality products for shaving and don’t shave the same areas twice. And as we mentioned before you should apply antiseptic or toner and moisturizer after shaving.

– Apply a warm washcloth to the area of skin around the ingrown hair.

– Sterilize a safety pin or a straight pin in rubbing alcohol or boiling water. Pull the pin gently under the ingrown hair to release it from beneath the skin. Use tweezers to grab the end of the hair and lift the ingrown hair above the skin.

– Wash the affected are and apply an antiseptic lotion.
