Everyone seems to love instant noodles. Why not when it is this warm yummy cheap meal you can make in a few minutes? It is considered one of the most popular convenient foods ever. However, you shouldn’t be too ecstatic about having your next cup’ o noodles since it causes not one, but many things that can literally kill you. Here are some of them.

1- Cancer. Instant noodles are made by adding boiling water to the Styrofoam cup it comes in, and this is half of its beauty, right? However Styrofoam plates and containers are not meant to hold piping hot foods as they can interact with the Styrofoam releasing cancerous components.

2- Suppressing growth. Did you know that the seemingly harmless instant noodles can suppress the growth of your little children? Kids under 5 years of age are deprived from the nutrients they direly need for growth because instant noodles inhibits the absorption of these chemicals.

3- Diseases That Happen Due to Large Amounts of Sodium. Instant noodles are crazy rich in sodium. Both the noodles themselves and the seasoning that comes with them have great proportions of salt to make sure it can stay good for consumption for a year or more. However, these amounts of salt can cause many severe problems such as inflammation, heart problems, arthritis, kidney problems…etc.

4- Obesity. Not only are instant noodles rich in salt, but in
calories as well. One cup of noodles can give you about 500 calories, that is 25% of the calories a fully grown woman needs in a day. So with the massive amount of calories and salt you are retaining both fat and water and heading to obesity really quick.

5- Miscarriage. We have just said that instant noodles inhibit growth for kids under five because it prevents the absorption of nutrients. That includes unborn children. It prevents nutrients from reaching them suppressing their growth. As a result, the fetus stops developing and ultimately dies.

6- Kidneys, heart and liver problems. One of the ingredients in instant noodles is “Propylene Glycol”. This chemical ingredient is easily absorbed by the body and it lingers in the kidneys, heart and liver. Over time and with enough concentrations, it causes disorders and problems to those areas and it also weakens the body’s immunity.

If you think about it a bit, you will find that instant noodles are not difficult to make from scratch. They will be healthier, more nutritious and even more delicious.
