Good Blood circulation is vital for your health as your blood carries oxygen and nutrients to all other parts of a body, regulate your PH, and contributes to essentially every bodily process. A malfunction in the circulatory system can cause serious health problems. There are some factors that can cause poor circulation which resulting in delivering an insufficient amount of blood to certain parts of the body. Poor blood circulation affects people of all ages but it is more common in elderly people. The following are some of the most common symptoms of poor blood circulation that everybody should be aware of.

1. Loss of Appetite: When your liver receives a sufficient amount of blood flow, it sends hunger signals to the brain. But when blood flow slows down, your digestion easily become impaired so you will feel less hungry and eat smaller meals during the day.

2. Exhaustion: When your circulatory system slows down, it loses the capacity to deliver the adequate amounts of oxygen and nutrients to your muscles. The lack of oxygen and nutrients fueling your muscles will, in turn, make you feel tired much quicker. This symptom is characterized by a lack of breath, sore muscles, and less endurance during daily activities.

3. Cold Extremities: If you have poor blood circulation, blood will not be able to flow at its optimal speed that helps to keep the body temperature at a healthy level. So Slow blood flow will cause the furthest parts such as fingers and toes feel much colder than the rest of your body.

4. Skin Discoloration: As a result of the insufficient amount of oxygen that your extremities receive, you may notice discoloration of the skin covering these parts of your body. Your fingers and toes will have a slightly bruised look and may take a blue or purple tone.

5. Swelling: If poor circulation interferes with the kidneys it can lead to abnormal swelling. When the circulatory system malfunctions, the body’s ability to keep fluid in the blood vessels are affected and fluid may leech out and settle into surrounding tissues in the extremities. So your hands or feet may appear swollen and puffy.

6. Leg Ulcers: Ulcers are sore inflamed parts of the skin they appear like a rash that refuses to go away. They may develop around ankles and knees. If you begin to notice dry red patches on your skin, it could be assign that there is a serious problem in your circulatory system.
