Your baby is ready for birth now, yet his digestive system, brain, and eyes will keep developing after a few weeks of his birth. The rest of his body including the liver, lungs, small organs, and tiny details are fully formed and developed by the 41st week. Actually, your baby is certainly at his way out to the external world.
The 41st week of your pregnancy should be the date of one of your labor’s stages including the early, active, and period of transition. The early stage includes frequent contractions that help your cervix be larger to open the way out for your baby. Beginning from this stage, your partner should give you regular healthy snacks and water to provide you power at the last stage.
The active labor may last three or four consecutive hours, as the cervix is dilating until the water break stage. Now, you should head directly to the hospital with your partner and relax as much as you can. When you reach the hospital, your baby should be at the second sub-stage of his transition period and you are required to push while the contractions are intensifying until your baby arrives to the external world.
By the end of the 41st week, your doctor will tend to induce your pregnancy using natural or medical methods such as cinnamon or oxytocin. Such methods have several risks on you and your baby whenever they are performed before the 39th week of pregnancy, but it is mostly safe at the 41st week. However, you can still let your baby choose his birthday and wait for the 42nd week to give birth in your due date if you still have a healthy pregnancy.
Keep eating healthy food, relaxing most of the day, and walking for 10 minutes every day to fight the exhausting pregnancy symptoms and strength your muscles for delivery day. All of your family friends should support you at this stage to avoid pregnancy depression and get a considerably easy delivery experience.
