Finding the best beauty product for your skin is not an easy journey, that’s why when you find something that works best for your skin, you just love it and it becomes so tempting to use it everyday. But some products are just not designed to be used on daily basis. So you are not confused anymore, here’s the beauty products that makeup experts recommend to avoid daily use of.

1- Dry Shampoo.

Don’t have time to wash your hair? Trying to make your hair continue to look fan for the day? Dry shampoo can be your hair saver. However this miracle invention can damage your locks with too much use.
Even if you love the convenience of dry shampoo, using it day after day can damage your hair and leave it dry, brittle and crispy. The build up of frequent use of the product can cause the hair to breakup and damage over time.

2- Deep Hair Conditioners.

Treating your dry scalp and hair roots with a deep protein conditioner is important to make your hair feels healthy and soft especially in the cold dry winter months.
But overuse of deep hair conditiobig products can dry up your hair even more.
So make sure to stick to the recommendations of using once or maybe twice a week on the bottle, more than that you could be overusig the product and causing your hair to get even drier.

3- Makeup Primer.

Makeup primer is a great idea to make your foundation more smooth and even allowing your makeup to last perfectly all day, but unfortunately the ingredients in makeup primers are not exactly your skin’s best friend.
Dermatologists recommend saving makeup primer to special events only because the silicon in these products can clog up your skin with dirt and oil resulting in more unattractive acne breakouts later. Also make sure to wash very well when you come to remove your makeup.

4- Waterproof Mascara.

A coat of mascara it your lashes best morning routine to complete the look. Thankfully you won’t have to give up mascara all together, you should only be more careful with waterproof mascara as it tends to dry up your lashes. Makeup experts recommend applying a first coat of regular mascara, let it dry and then seal it in place with a coat of waterproof mascara. In the evening when you remove your makeup, apply castor oil, coconut oil or almond oil on your lashes to keep them moisturized.

Lipstick is one of the things we would like to last for as long as possible. It has the power to enhance your look, make your outfit, and make your face shine. On the other side, it’s not a make-up product which tends to last long and can look shabby by the end of the day. And as we don’t have the time for endless touch-ups, we need to look for smart ways to make lipstick last longer. To save your time, here are 6 secrets to long-lasting lipstick.

1. Exfoliate your lips. To ensure your lipstick lasts, you’ll want to ensure there are no flakes of dead skin on your pout. Use a lip scrub to exfoliate dead skin cells off your lips.

2. Next, apply a hydrating, non-oily lip balm. Anything with a waxy consistency is preferred over a slippery texture that will cause the color to slide right off.

3. Try a lip primer. This product creates a smooth surface for your lipstick and prevents the lipstick from spilling out of your lips. Foundation also serves the same purpose and can be used in place of lip primer. This also gives it a little something extra to adhere to. If you have a dark skin tone, this also helps enhance the lipstick’s true color.

4. Take a lip liner and outline the lips, as well as fill them in. Lip pencils have waxier formulas in contrast to lipsticks. Because of this longer staying power, it creates a barrier that keeps the color intact within your lips. By adding this step, the lipstick will cling to your lips keeping your make-up flawless through the day. You can use a lip pencil closest to the shade of your lipstick or go for a neutral or universal lip liner.

5. Use a long wear lipstick formula. Selecting the right lipstick is a crucial decision. Long wear lipsticks do hold up to their claims as they contain extra pigment and lesser moisturizing agents so they tend to last longer than creamier products.

6. To get the perfect pout, apply the lipstick using a lip brush. Apply your color carefully and selectively instead of swiping the lipstick on in one slick motion. Swipe the brush from the corners to the center to get well-defined lips and a long lasting finish. Voila!

Washing your makeup brushes should be an essential part of your beauty routine. That is because dirty makeup brushes can transfer old makeup, germs, and bacteria to your skin each time you use them. So using such dirty makeup brushes can lead to clogged pores and pesky breakouts. Another point is that quality makeup brushes are expensive, so by cleaning them you will protect them and make them last longer. Here are few different ways to clean your brushes once a week.

Method 1:

1. Run your brushes under lukewarm water to rinse out all of the residual makeup. Try to focus on the actual bristles and avoid the part of the brush where the handle meets the head, because this can loosen the glue that holds the bristles together.
2. Put a small amount of baby shampoo into the palm of your hand and swirl the brush in the palm of your until it creates a rich lather.
3. When you feel that the bristles became clear from dirt and oils, rinse your brush head under lukewarm water.
4. Squeeze the excess water out of the brush by pulling it in between your thumb and the side of your index finger.
5. Use a cloth to wipe your brush clean, reshaping the bristles as you go.
6. Lay your brushes flat on a cloth to dry.

Method 2:

1. Get a bar of soap wet with warm water. Choose a bar of plain soap without added lotions and other substances that could linger on the brush bristles.
2. Put the soap inside a bowl and swirl the tips of your brushes over the soap. Use a gentle circular motion to work up a lather so that the soap is distributed throughout the brush bristles.
3. Rinse the brushes with warm water.
4. Place them on a clean towel and let them air dry completely.

Method 3:

1. Pour a tablespoon of olive oil onto a clean sponge. Olive oil acts as a gentle cleanser, and it also conditions brushes to help keep the bristles from drying out. It’s a great way to clean brushes that are made with natural hairs or fibers.
2. Swirl the brushes over the surface of the sponge. Try to saturate the bristles with olive oil. Swirl the brushes until the residue on the brushes has been transferred to the sponges.
3. Rinse the brushes under warm running water.
4. Place them on a clean towel and let them dry for a few hours.

Many people believe that toner is not an important item for their skin thus it is the most ignored part of the skin care routine. But in the fact using skin toner can help you have a glowing skin. In this article we are going to reveal the main benefits your skin will get from using skin toner:

1. Toner is effective in removing the entire oil and makeup residue from the skin. And also it helps in removing the unwanted cleanser remains on the skin. Because of its ability to remove oil, it is considered as an effective way to fight acne. It is preferred by many people because it makes the skin feel smooth and fresh.

2. Toner will help re-balancing the pH of your skin, as cleansing can alter the face’s natural balance. A pH balance should be right around 4.5. And it is reported that some cleansing products hike a pH balance up to 14 leaving the skin dehydrated and tight. With toner, your skin can regain your skin moisture and make it look soft as it is a great hydration and at the same time it nourishes the skin.

3. Toner is used basically to shrink the pores of the skin thereby reducing many signs of aging skin. Moreover, it improved blood circulation which causes a healthy glow and makes your face look younger.

4. The use of toners allows you to rest assured that your skin is properly cleansed as it penetrates more deeply than a cleanser and removes dirt, dead skin cells, and impurities from your pores. This, of course, allows your skin to breathe and give it a fresh look.

Use the toner after cleansing your skin with the cleanser that suits your skin. If your cleanser is in the form of a leather or requires rinsing then use a towel to dry your face before using the toner. Apply a little amount of toner on a cotton wool and wipe it over the face. Apply a moisturizer to your face when you are done.

There are many different types of toners to meet the needs of every skin type. Choose the one that suits your skin type, if you have a sensitive oil avoid buying a toner that contains alcohol as it can inflame your skin and cause it to redden. Also, people with oily skin should avoid alcohol-based toners because it will stimulate more oil production. Generally, to get a toner with amazing hydrating properties, stay away from toners that contain SD and/or alcohol and ethanol.

Grim Reaper costume is a perfect choice for Halloween. Making a Grim Reaper costume at home will be affordable and will please you as well because you will have a lot of fun while making it. Grim reaper is synonymous with death. So if you decide to be the ‘Angel of Death’ and you will dress up like Grim Reaper this Halloween, the following steps will help you make a Grim Reaper costume in an easy way.

First, to make the black cloak you will need a black fabric. You can stitch a cloak from the fabric if you master sewing. But if you are not, blanket your body with stiff fabric and cover your head also. With a pen or a brooch, pin the fabric around your neck to make a hood. Use a long fabric to be assured that it will cover your legs. Wear black clothes underneath the fabric which include black shirt, pants, socks and shoes. Use safety pins to secure the drape around the shoulders and tie a black belt or a rope around your waist to get the perfect look.

Second: To create the skeleton look for your face, use a skeleton mask and apply black face paint under your eyes to maximize the effect of the look. Use the black paint to color the tip of your nose in a way that makes it looks hollow. With white pain, highlight the bones of the visible side of your neck as this can give a skeleton effect to the face.

Third: To crate the Skelton look for your hands, you can easily buy a customized skeleton hands from the market. Or you can paint he bones in white and apply black nail polish to your hands. Remember, your palms are the only part that should be visible. Another idea is to wear black gloves and paint finger bones on them.

Fourth: To make the scythe, draw the shape of a scythe on a cardboard, then cut it out. Cover the scythe cutout with aluminum or silver foil. Instead, you can spray the shape with silver color spray paint. Bring a stick or a pipe and paint it with black or brown color and attach the scythe to the stick or the pipe.

For extra effect, you can accessorize your costume with skull-shaped belts around the waist, or a necklace of little skulls.

Wearing makeup on an oily skin presents a challenge for many women as it doesn’t last for a long time. It is quite annoying to look in the mirror mid-afternoon to find that your makeup has all but worn off. But fortunately there are some steps you can apply in order to make your makeup last all day and here they are.

1. Use a Primer
According to Emily Kate Warren, a makeup artist based in Los Angles, using a makeup primer for an oily skin is very effective in making everything stay put. It isn’t a must to prime all your face, but the oiliest areas which include the T-Zone, forehead, nose, and chin should be primed with an oil-free, anti-shine primer. Remember to put the primer after cleaning your face but before putting any other makeup.

2. Don’t Use Concealer
As Warren see, a good tip for protecting your eye from creasing is to avoid priming your lids with concealer which is a thing that many women with dark circles or redness do. Rather than using concealer, use a primer specially designed for eyelids. The base creates a perfect canvas for eye shadow and liner and at the same time it absorbs crease-causing oils throughout the day.

3. Don’t overuse Powder
When putting on your face powder, take care not to go overboard because it can lead to unwanted result as the overuse of face powder will make your pores push out more oil. Put powder only on shiny areas. Go for a matte translucent formula that can cut shine on any skin tone. In case you apply too much powder, you can handle the situation by dampening a makeup sponge and blotting it over the over-powdered areas.

4. Go oil-free
As the oily skin naturally produces more than enough oil, you should better buy makeup products that are oil-free and noncomedogenic since they are specially formulated so as not o cause blocked pores. Also, using face cleansers and toners that are infused with glycolic acids, which reduce extra oil, is recommended by Elizabeth Tanzi, MD, a cosmetic dermatologist in Washington, D.C.

5. Look for “long wear”
Water and oil can make your makeup look smear, smudge, or slip. That is why you should select waterproof, water-resistant, or long-wear eye products. Applying water-resistant eyeliner and cream eyeshadow over an eye primer is a very brilliant long-wear combo.

We always thought that wearing glasses hides the eyes and makes it impossible to wear make up beautifully. This idea is now outdated as it has been proven over and over that glasses can accentuate your look but how to wear make up that would suit your look correctly?

1. Thick lashes
Thick lashes will make your eyes look bigger and better! Apply a double layer of waterproof mascara, this will make your lashes thick and prevent your lenses from getting smudgy.

2. Volume only
Super-curling your lashes will make them hit the lenses so frequently, it becomes annoying. Use a volumizing mascara to get them thick because neither curly nor long will do you any good in this case.

3. The right tone of concealer
Lenses tend to throw a darkening shadow over the eyes, solve this by using a yellow-toned concealer that will brighten your eyes, hide any dark circles yet leaves you with a natural look.

4. Frame your eye shadow
So the rule goes like this: soft shape thick frame, hard shape thin frame. However, if you want to add more drama to the eye play with colours. Use your glasses to frame your eyes like a frame to a good painting. Thus, never let your eye shadow go beyond the frame.

5. Eye shadow colour palette
Mediocre fashion experts will always tell you to use an eyeshadow colour that matches the colour of your frame. However since it is not mediocrity we are after, it is safe to say that over the years fashion houses have taught us to crave a good contrast. A contrast is good if it is not a distraction so mix and match and you will know a good contrast when you see one.

6. Lipstick
The next best thing make up artists will tell you after ‘less is more’ is ‘pick a stress point’. A good make up will have a good harmonious focal point, when you stress the lips you soften the eyes and vice versa as you do not want to come out as too much.

7. Winged eyeliner
A well-applied eyeliner is good but a winged eyeliner is better! It accentuates your eye and draws the attention to them depending on how dramatic you choose the shape. You will never go wrong with a simple winged eyeliner, red lipstick and a luscious look.

8. Blotting foundation! No more
Using transculent foundation will help you to avoid foundation blotting against your lenses. A good contouring also will help accentuate your features and harmonise the shape of your face with the glasses.

9. Eyebrows
Choosing the right shape for your eyebrows will help harmonising your look. You want to have a one centimeter space between your eyebrows and your frame. Do not trim them too thin if you have a thick frame or vice versa as it will only accentuate the contrast. You want a contrast but not a drastic one.

10. Turn heads with your confidence
A confident look is the true reason behind every infatuation. Feel good and look good or look good and feel good. Either way, neither of them works without the other.

These days the cosmetics market offers us tons of mascaras which make it harder to choose the right one for the right occasion. It could take you a number of trials before finding your perfect mascara match. A mascara, if applied properly, would not need the complement of artificial lashes. So, what are the common mascara mistakes we make?

1 . Over coating
The perfect mascara look is a thick lashes look. However, to reach the perfect thickness it is always advisable to apply one to two coats maximum. Too many coats of mascara would result in clumping¸ this would ultimately ruin the look. If two coats are not enough, you should opt for a thicker formula mascara.

2. Forgetting to use the eyelash curler
Even if you are using a mascara formula that promises to curl the lashes, it is always advisable to curl it beforehand as well. These formulas affect the durability of your curled lashes, they do not do the curling itself. Thus, it is necessary to always curl you lashes with an eyelash curler before applying mascara.

3. Coating the tip only
To properly apply mascara¸ apply the coating near the lash line. Many people apply heavy coating to the tip of the lashes only and this makes the mascara wear off easier.

4. Pumping the wand
This is a really bad habit that was passed on to us from the 50s and the 60s. At that time, women thought that pumping the mascara wand would result in a better, thicker looking coating. In fact, this habit results in drying the mascara out and making it more prone to bacteria. It is always advisable to tip the wand only once during application.

5. Smudgy eyelids
Never apply a mascara when you are in a hurry. A mascara should be applied with a steady hand to avoid smudging your eyelids. However, a mascara smudge is best removed with a Q tip and a makeup remover.

6. Pick the right mascara for you
Picking the right mascara for you is key to having the mascara look you want. For instance a lengthening mascara is perfect if you have short lashes, also a waterproof mascara is excellent for an outdoorsy kind of woman. Also, it is vital to take care that almost every eye makeup has a life span of three months. You can push that limit a little but be careful that an expired cosmetic product could cause irritation.

Remove Makeup Daily, When you read this title and wonder if you should remove your makeup daily, you should read the full article to enjoy a healthy skin. Let’s agree that you should remove your makeup before bed to avoid inflammation and skin sensitivity, especially around your eyes.
The dual phase makeup remover should be your friend, as it combines the oil and water cleansing features, but you need to purchase an oil-based makeup remover to dissolve the waterproof mascara or liner without scrubbing or pulling your skin.

If you have a sensitive skin, you can remove makeup with cleansing water and a piece of cotton. Your dermatologist will define the type of your skin to help you choose suitable cleanser and makeup remover safely. If you use heavy makeup, the cold cream and a warm washcloth or the oil concealer will remove your makeup perfectly.

Your home already has several alternatives to the makeup remover such as a baby shampoo, a gentle cleanser, a moisturizer, or even baby wipes. You can use such alternatives if your skin is sensitive to the traditional makeup removers, but you should be careful in using petroleum jelly and baby oil because they have side effects.
If you are eco-friendly or nature lover, you can create your own makeup remover using a combination of witch hazel and olive oil, baking soda and honey, almond oil, vitamin E oil, milk, or coconut oil.

Instead, you can turn a piece of cucumber into a paste and mix it with your favorite oil to remove makeup and reduce irritation and inflammation of your acne-prone skin. The circular massaging motion is the secret of the safe makeup removal, as you should use your clean finger to spread the cleanser, let it to dissolve makeup, and remove the dissolved makeup and the cleanser.

Whatever the type of makeup remover you will use, try to choose high quality cotton balls and to clean the sensitive area around your eyes with massage-like circles or downward movements to avoid the fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles around your eyes. For your safety, use two wipes to remove makeup from your eyes, face, and wash your face with warm water.

After removing makeup from the different parts of your face using fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, and oil-free cleanser, use your fingertips to massage your eyelids gently and make sure that your face become clean and smooth and finish the task with your usual eye or face cream.

In Top 10 bridal makeup don’ts we learned more about three of the main mistakes brides do when it comes to makeup. The first three mistakes were: skipping trial makeup, experimenting on your wedding day and applying too heavy foundation. Now, let’s learn more about the remaining seven bridal makeup don’ts.

4. SPF foundation
Wearing a foundation with SPF protection is not suitablefor a wedding. The ingredients in the SPF foundation will cause your face to look stark white in flash photography. So, apt for a traditional foundation on your wedding day. However, if you are having an outdoors wedding apply sunscreen underneath your foundation instead of on top.

5. Too dramatic eye makeup
The best eye makeup is a soft subtle one. Smoky eyes look good but they often cast a shadow around the eyes in photographs. Smoldering eyes also look good in person but not in photographs. Makeup experts advise you to apt for an eyeshadow shade that accentuates your eyecolor. Also you are advised to start your bridal eye makeup with a cream shadow as it will stay longer than powder. Makeup experts also advise you to keep black out of your bridal eye makeup and use it only in a mascara.

6. The eyebrows
Over plucked eyebrows or under plucked eyebrows have no place in a bridal look. Apt for a professional wax for your eyebrows to achieve a well-defined brow shape. Do not forget to wax your eyebrows a week before your wedding to prevent rash appearing on your wedding day. Also, use a brow powder that matches your hair color for a harmonious look.

7. The wrong type of makeup
For such an emotional day, you are advised to use waterproof makeup as an insurance policy if you could not hold back your tears. It is advisable, in case of of tearing, to dab and not wipe your tears. This is the best damage control to do to avoid ruining your makeup.

8. Lipstick and lipgloss
Makeup artists always prefer lip stain to lipstick or lipgloss specially if you are wearing a veil. Lipstick is too shiny for the pictures and lipgloss will stick in the veil and wear off easily.

9. Body color
It is important to even the skin tone of your body with your face by using some body makeup. This gets more and more important if you are wearing a revealing gown.

10. Scheduling your facials wrong

Every girl, no matter how strong and independent she is, dreams about this day. The day she ties the knot and starts her ever after. Everything has to be perfect for this exceptional day specially that pictures endure lifetimes. However, sometimes we do some mistakes unaware of their impact on the final outcome of such a special day. To learn more about these mistakes, let’s have a look on top 10 bridal makeup don’ts starting with:

1. Skipping trial makeup
What happens if your makeup artist applies your bridal makeup minutes before your wedding and you felt disappointed? Surely, this is not the way you want to feel in your wedding; that you have had better makeups before. Thus, it is very important that you do not skip your trial makeup. Sure thing is that the trial adds cost to your makeup package but it is not a thing you can do without.

You can broaden your sense of options and get a better idea of what you want by visiting bridal fairs. In a bridal fair, you will be offered a free makeover and you can snap before and after shots to have a better visual of the change. Always make sure you conduct your visit in a white blouse or dress, it will help alot.

Also, make sure you and your makeup artist are on the same page and sing the same tunes. Make sure that s/he understands your needs and is ready to provide his/her professional view. An opinionated makeup artist who wants his own way regardless of your preferences will act against you. After all, it is your day!

2. Experimenting
People always try to lose weight for their weddings, why? The answer is simple: they want to look the best version of themselves. The same goes for your makeup! It is never a wise move to try something you have never done before on your wedding day. Experimenting is the result of your constant search for a wow factor and is totally understandable. However, let it be on a small scale as your wow factor is already there in the dress and the hair. Do not make drastic changes that you become unrecognizable to the extent of spooking your groom to be.

3. Too heavy foundation
Applying too heavy foundation will not make it stay longer. Instead, apply a primer and it will give your foundation something to stick to. Too much foundation will look super artificial in the photos, apt for a good primer and a medium coverage foundation. This will minimize the pores’ appearance and give you a stunning natural look.

Nailing a professional look at work is vital to your image as you need to look, as well as feel, in place. Thus, it is of great importance to pick the right make-up that complements the professional image you are trying to form whether with your colleagues or your clients. So, here are seven tips on picking the right make-up for a workplace:

1 . How do you feel about make-up?
The most important thing is considering who you truly are. To pick your perfect make-up at work, you have to be true to yourself and complement the way you do your hair. A simple hairstyle reflects a loyal personality in the workplace. Professional, yet stylish, hairdos include a ponytail, flat-ironed, chignons and half up half down hairstyles.

2. Opt for the natural look
In a professional environment, it is always advisable to opt for the natural look. Light shades of brown, pink, taupe and peaches are perfect for a work make-up. A low contrast make-up is favorable for work to make the face well-blended, natural and balanced.

3. Study your assets well
Studying your face is vital to know which parts to accentuate and which to hide. It is the same technique of contouring, putting the stress on certain parts and hiding others all by playing on light and shade. Study your face and highlight your features to have a natural and bright-looking make-up.

4. At work, you need a soft yet long lasting make-up to avoid retouching every couple of hours. Use an eye shadow primer to help your eye shadow sit in the creases of your eyelid. Opt for waterproof mascara and a long-lasting lip gloss. After finishing your face, try dusting it with a transparent powder to prevent it from wearing off easily.

5. Identify your professional environment
When deciding on the right make-up to wear, it is vital to identify the kind of professional setting you are in. The dress code changes from a conservative professional environment to a business casual one to a casual one. The casual category is the least demanding professional environment in matters of attire and accordingly make-up. If you became too confused to decide, watch and learn! It is always advisable to observe your environment to identify the norm of the workplace. Define the norm by knowing the attire choices made by your superiors at work.
