I think we could all agree that applying eyeliner is one of the most difficult steps of applying makeup. You can’t smooth things out when you apply eyeliner like you do with foundation, blush or eyeshadow.
You usually wipe the whole thing off before doing it from the start. Therefore, we need to keep in mind the mistakes we should avoid when applying eyeliner.
1- Closing the eye you are applying the eyeliner to. I know that closing your eyes or trying to close the one you are applying eyeliner to seems logical as the skin of your eyelids will be smoother and easier to draw on, but in reality closing your eye will ruin the similarity of the eyeliner on both of your eyes. We don’t see the same with one eye as we do with two eyes.
2- Going out after applying eyeliner for the first time. Like we have said at the early lines of this article: applying eyeliner is difficult and needs a lot of practices. So don’t just apply it and wear it on your first time.
3- Applying eyeliner quickly. We cannot repeat this enough times: applying an eyeliner is a difficult process and it needs – in addition to practice – a bit of time and patience. If you don’t have the time or the patience, don’t apply eyeliner.
4- Using poor eyeliner brands and badly made brush. In makeup – and in life in general – you get your money’s worth. So don’t buy an anonymous brand and a lousy cheap eyeliner brush and wonder afterwards why the eyeliner is lumpy or dry, or why is it difficult to apply
