Many women choose to have a c section multiple times, thinking that it’s the easiest way to deliver a baby, however this choice must be weighed carefully. Read this article to learn about the effects and harms of having more than one c section

Pregnant women should think of the other option which is vaginal birth , especially if they had a c section more than two times .if you are planning to have a c section you need to wait at least 6 months before getting pregnant again to avoid any complications as the following

1 – Difficult Delivery and delivery
Multiple c section can cause excessive bleeding and a lot of difficulty during giving birth .In the July 2006 issue of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a study mentioned that women who had three c sections experienced Excessive blood loss

2 – Risk to your Baby
A baby delivered by a mum who had multiple c sections can be at risk of being admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit suffering from breathing issues , as mentioned in a research conducted by Beena Kamath, M.D. at the University of Colorado School of Medicine .

3 – Placenta accrete
It’s a very common complication that occurs in this case the placenta is attached deeply to the uterine wall which causes threats to the mother life

4 – Scar tissue on the uterus
These scars occur after the surgery and it makes the delivery time more prolonged , it also affects the nearby organs of the body causing adhesions. The risk of adhesions is 50 percent compared to a normal delivery and it increases to 75% and 83% after the second and third time.

5 – Bladder and bowel injuries
This is also another side effect which happens due to the adhesion and scaring , it causes the uterus and the bladder to be adhered together which sometimes leads to bowel obstruction .

6 – Uterine rupture
According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. women who choose to give birth naturally are less likely to experience complications of a c section like uterine rupture .

7 – Leg Blood Clots
When a woman has a c section she will find difficulty in walking . this will be a reason that leads to formation of blood clots in the legs area . she might also be subjected to bleeding from the incision point causing some infections , if a woman notices that bleeding she should consult her doctor as it can be a bladder or bowel injury.
