Watch Out for These 6 Telling Signs That Show You’ve Been Sleeping Wrong Your Entire Life

Sleep is the only action through which your vital organs can fully recharge their energy. And nothing else takes the place of good sleep. However, even if sleep is a natural and vital process, it still has a right way and a wrong way of doing it. Sleeping in a wrong way can lessen the quality of your sleep and as a result, not recharging your energy fully. So how do you know if you are sleeping wrong? With these telling signs:

1- You keep a sleep a sleep tracker and even love it. Withings Aura, Misfit Ray, Beddit Smart and Jawbone are all brands you are familiar with. Keeping a sleep tracker means you are fixating on the process of sleep rather than letting nature takes its course. Sleep should not be tracked to tell whether it is comfortable or not. The only tracker you need here is how you feel after you wake up.

2- You rest your head only on a pillow while you sleep. Yeah we’ve all done that. However, some “good” sleepers instinctively know that this isn’t the right way for sleeping. So, they put a pillow under their knees and between their legs so their spine wouldn’t bend while they sleep and be able to sleep comfortably this way. 3- You often sleep on your belly. Sleeping on your stomach might be comfortable, especially if you usually suffer from gases and similar problems, but breathing in this position can be problematic leading to sleeping disorders.

4- You sleep at different times. One day you may sleep in just because you don’t have anything to do. You sleep 8 hours the next day but 6 hours the day after. This is another telling sign of sleeping wrong.

5- You oversleep when you have nothing to do. Having nothing to do should not mean turning sleep into a hobby. And oversleeping does not necessarily make you rested.

6- Your pillows are fluffy and soft. As pillows are what make your head aligned with the rest of your body, they should NOT be fluffy or soft. They should not be hard either.
