Hair Removal

Everything you Need to Know about waxing

Wax is considered as one of the best effective and inexpensive methods to temporarily get rid of unwanted hairs from any part of your body. Although it is a temporary method to remove unpleasant hair, it can achieve a long-lasting hair-free skin. This method is common among many people because it removes the hair from the roots, leaving your skin smooth and glowing. This method is defiantly effective in getting you rid of unwanted hair, but there is some important information you need to know about it.

Before you apply the warm wax on your skin, you should first apply a conditioning lotion on the part where unwanted hairs will be removed. Then hot wax can be easily spread onto your skin and will be covered with cloth strips. Once the warm wax is applied on your skin, it will open the pores allowing the substance to reach the hair follicles, and this, in turn, makes the hair easier to be removed from the roots. The body temperature helps the hot wax to melt then when they harden, they trap into the cloth strip found on the surface of the skin. Pull the cloth strips towards the opposite direction where your hair grows by this way you will get a flawless, smooth, and soft skin.

There is also cold wax which comes with a pre-coated strip which is available in the supermarkets. Press the strip against the skin and the hair will trap into the strip. When this strip will be ripped off it will also pull out the roots of the hair along with it.

After pulling out the strip you may experience some side effects such as a stinging effect on your skin, redness, or bumps. These side effects are temporary and they disappear after only a few hours but to be on the safe side, you can apply a healing cream to remedy them. And it is advisable to apply a cube of ice onto the area of your skin where the wax had been applied.

Waxing strips can be used to remove hair from both small and large areas of your body as they are available in different sizes. You can use them to remove hair from legs, arms, chest, back, upper lips, and eyebrows. You must avoid waxing areas like male genitals, eyelashes, and hair on your nose.

When you remove hair with wax, they usually take 3—5 weeks to grow back. The hairs that grow back are fine and smooth and you will notice that your hair growth has slowed down or it has stopped completely for some areas.
