The planned meals should include limited sweets, three small meals and three snacks per day, controlled intake of carbohydrates, high-fiber foods, and grains. Physical activities such as swimming, walking, and light exercises should be included in your lifestyle in order to control gestational diabetes.

In most of cases, the gestational diabetes disappears after delivery. A new-mother can be checked after 6 to 12 weeks of delivery. Although it disappears after delivery, there is a chance to occur again in your second pregnancy or can also turn to type 2 diabetes in the future, so you should take this into your consideration.
