Diabetes characterized by excess of sugar or glucose in the blood that happens due to the lesser secretion of insulin hormone or when the secreted insulin is not absorbed by the body. There are two kinds of diabetes type-1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Type 1 is a condition in which there is an autoimmune destruction of insulin producing beta cells of pancreas. Eat Healthy: Stay away from fast food meals. Whole grains and lots of green leafy vegetables with considerable fiber content must be included to your daily diet. Nourish your body with vegetables that are rich in vitamins, minerals and unsaturated fats such as spinach, green beans, broccoli, asparagus, egg plants, mushrooms, lettuce, etc, that help the body to absorb the sugar. It is better to cook you foods with olive oil due to its content of unsaturated fats. Foods with saturated fats should be avoided. Eat a lot of vitamin-rich fruits every day.
Drink Water: Everyone should drink lots of water every day. Drinking plenty of water every day is a must as it helps your body get rid of all the toxins and helps in cleaning the bloodstream. You should drink from 6 to 8 glasses of water every day to keep your system healthy.
Exercise Regularly: Practicing physical exercises will help in disposing the unwanted fats in your body helping in effective functioning of insulin. Walking for 30 minutes in morning or evening every day will make you stay active and fit. If you are overweight, it is better to join a gym to get rid of the extra fats.
Limit your Alcohol Intake: Drinking lots of alcohol can damage your liver. And your liver has a great role in disturbing the glucose in the bloodstream. Moreover, the excessive consumption of alcohol can make you put on weight which, in turn, increases the risks of getting type 2 diabetes.
