Water is the essence of life. So, drinking no less than two liters of water a day is necessary, no vital. However, people find that drinking such a large amount of water – being the tasteless and odorless material it is – is difficult. But, drinking water does not necessarily mean that you have to force yourself to gulp up large amounts of water. You can drink your daily quota of water in different ways, and we will show you some of these ways in this article.
- Slice Things Up. I always love how slices of fruits and vegetables look in water pitchers. I find them tempting and I feel like I could smell them while drinking the water. I am sure many people feel like I do. Slice fruits or vegetables and add them to your water containers.
- Bubbles could help you in drinking more water. Sparkling water gives you the feeling that you are drinking soft drinks without their disadvantages. You can also flavor it by adding slices of fruit like we have just said. This way you will enjoy drinking your daily need of water.
- Have a cup of tea. Tea of all varieties has many benefits. It is rich in antioxidants that fight inflammation and prevents cancer. It boosts blood flow and improves digestion. It fights cavities and plaque, and improves your overall dental health. Prepare yourself a cup of tea from time to time and enjoy your water with a load of health benefits.
- Drink soup. You can also get your daily needs of water from soup instead of plain boring water. Soup is not just a healthy filling and hydrating meal, it can help you stay fit and healthy as the vegetables used to make it give you many of the nutrients you need without so many calories.
- Use herbs. Add herbs and spices such as cinnamon, peppermint, ginger, anise, cardamom, turmeric, chamomile, sage, lemongrass, vanilla, nutmeg, cumin…etc. to flavor up your water. You can either add the herbs and drink them as they are or boil them. It is better to boil herbs if they are dry to benefit better from the extract herbs release into boiled water.
- Drink fruits instead of eating them. You can make homemade fruit juice by putting any fruits you wish to eat – or rather drink – in your blender and adding some water. This way you will be both rehydrating and getting much of your daily needs of minerals and vitamins.
