If you are suffering from excessive weight gain, you have probably read all about bypass surgery and its procedures already. You might have also witnessed the false propaganda about iteverywhere and have listened to various people claiming how they lost over a hundred pounds because of it.
However, what I see is that bypass surgery is only a drastic measure for treating obesity when every other method fails completely, and that if you are going to have a gastric bypass, there are certain things you should expect after the surgery, including:
1- Even if you have undergone this surgery to lose weight, there will be a time when you reach the damn “plateau”. It is when your body finds that the amount of calories you receive – in spite of being little – are enough to sustain you, and therefore, burning your storage of fat is no longer necessary.
2- You need 8 glasses of water a day, right? Well, even if you need that much water, you won’t be able to have it, not easily at least. That is to be expected with a stomach in the size of an espresso cup.
3- Even if your insurance does cover the heavy cost of a bypass surgery – which is unlikely – it will not cover the costs of its aftermath. Dozens of kilograms dropping in a few months? How wonderful it would be if it wasn’t for those flabs of skin that can annoy the hell out of you and make you hate your body much more than you ever did before the surgery
4- You may even gain some of the weight you lost back. After bypass surgery, you are forced to do all the things you would have done while going through a weight loss diet, (exercising, eating healthy, drinking plenty of water…etc.) If you don’t, you will gain some weight back.
