...........................................................................................................

What is a Heart? And No, I am not going to say something cliché like it is what you need to love or anything similarly stupid. A heart is the organ that makes sure that the oxygen needed for providing your body with energy, gets to all of your organs through the blood it pumps. Your heart muscle could be damaged and abused just like any other muscle. Here are some of the habits that can damage your heart and disturb its functionality:

1- Sleeping at irregular times and poor quality sleep. So, maybe you are a new mommy or a student preparing for a difficult exam, so your sleeping time and hours are being disturbed for a while. It is expected to have a little bit of unhealthy sleep. But if you are, however, irregularly sleeping all the time, your heart will pay the heavy toll. And for your information, a diseased heart is not the only thing you could expect with poor sleep quality.

2- Neglecting your dental health. Strange, isn’t it? What the hell does not brushing or flossing your teeth have to do with your heart? It turns out that poor dental health can lead to gum disease which can lead to heart problem.

3- Bad mood. If only those who complain about how hardships in their lives are bad for their hearts knew half of it… But, negative emotions such as anger, stress, anxiety, misery and depression can really damage your heart.

4- Neglecting health checkups. Some people seem to think that to have a problem, it is necessary to just drop where you are standing from severe pain. Well, you only reach that stage when it is too late, and until it happens, your body develops illnesses and damages for a long time. Visit your doctor regularly to make sure that your ticker is healthy.

5- Pollution. Why wouldn’t pollution be damaging your heart? If the air you breathe, the water you drink or the food you eat are polluted, wouldn’t the contaminating components be absorbed by your organs – including your heart – affect their work?

6- Smoking. You may consider it one point number 5, but we don’t want any misunderstanding. One of the worst habits one could follow is smoking, especially when it comes to heart health.
