6 Uses for Orange Peels You’ve Never Thought About Before

...........................................................................................................

Orange is my favorite fruit ever. It brings all the tastes and flavors I love in the world together. And my favorite breakfast is a slice of rye bread with white cheese and an orange. However, few people know that you can use the peel of an orange, not just the flesh, for so many things. Here are some of them:

1- Make orange zest. I guess you would say we already know about that, but there are so many things you can make with orange zest, such as cakes, cocktails, coffee, tea and even soap!

2- Brown sugar is not as dry as white sugar and therefore it can go bad quickly. You can preserve brown sugar for a much longer time by adding few orange peels to its container.

3- Orange peels can make the most exotic treat ever. Just boil them in sugar and lemon syrup and then coat them with granulated sugar or chocolate and refrigerate until you need to serve them.

4- Did you know that the olive oil you use for dressing your salad can be scented? If you want to give your salad a refreshing new flavor, make a habit of keeping a bottle of olive oil to which you add a few orange peels.

5- Refresh your clothes and get rid of the stuffy smell in your wardrobe by making pouches of old stocking and filling them with dried orange peels.

6- If you have just washed your cutting board and found that the smell of garlic is still stuck to it, rub it with a slice of orange. The same solution works if you want to get rid of garlic and onion odors on your hands.
