The look of the finger is important for every lady as the great look of your fingers can greatly enhance your beauty. Every woman needs to take care of her fingers and nails to stay beautiful. Shellac nail polish is one of the recent products that hits nail salons.
The process of getting your nails painted with Shellac starts with choosing the nail polish color you want. Then the manicurist cuts the cuticles, files the nails, and buffs them. Then she will apply three layers to your nails, it will start with the base coat, then the color coat and the final layer will be the top coat. After you have applied the nail paint, you will place your fingers under a UV lamp for about 3 to 4 minutes.
Once the top coat has dried completely, you can leave the salon without any problems. And this is not the case with the other manicures as you need to be careful not to get the nail polish smudged. One of the advantages of getting your nails painted with shellac is that the manicure can last for 2 weeks. Moreover, the shine of the manicure stays intact for the entire time.
The downside is that you can’t apply or remove Shellac nails at home. You need to go for the salon to get it removed by a manicurist. Another point is that UV rays in the lamps are somewhat similar to the ones in tanning beds so it can be harmful to your skin. So you have to apply SPF 60 sunscreen to your hands at least 30 minutes before exposure to the UV lamp.
After applying Shellac nail polish you have to take care of your nails by following some tips:
1. To protect your nails, it is advisable to use a nail and cuticle oil every day.
2. It is preferable to wear gloves while doing any works that are hard on the hands like washing dishes, cleaning the house, and gardening.
3. If anything caused the Shellac to chip or lift, don’t try to deal with it all you need to do is to take a photo and send it to your salon and they will give you the best advice.
4. After swimming, you need to wash your hands and dry them because the chlorinated water can have a slight bleaching effect on some colors.
