Dark circles are not a serious skin problem, but they make people look unhealthy and older. You can easily overcome dark rings or shadows under your eyes using some easy home remedies. Read on to find out.
Almond Oil Massage
Almond oil is a good source of vitamin K which prevents blood clotting and decreases discoloration under the eyes. It also contains antioxidants, palmatic acid and retinols, the components that hydrate skin around the eye, keep it protected and looking healthy.
Wash your face then dry it with a soft towel and gently massage almond oil around the eyes before bed time. Repeat this routine every night and you will see noticeable results in just a few weeks.
Use Cucumber Slices
Cucumber slices have long been used specifically for dark rings as cucumber has very powerful properties that can help in reducing swelling and renewing the appearance of the skin under the eye. Prepare thick slices of cucumber and refrigerate them for half an hour.
Place the slices onto dark areas for 10 minutes then rinse your face. You can also follow another way, mix cucumber juice with lemon juice in equal quantities then apply the mixture on the affected areas using a cotton ball. You can notice improvement within two weeks.
Potato can whiten dark areas anywhere in the body as it contains natural bleaching agents. Peel and grate one potato to extract its juice then by using a cotton ball apply the juice where the dark circles have taken place including eyelids. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes then rinse your face.
Follow this routine once or twice daily for a few weeks. Slices of raw potato can also be used instead.
Lastly, try as much as possible not to strain yourself too much and sleep well to prevent dark circles from appearing again.
