One of the things that we should give it an attention in our skin care routine is to ensure that the pores do not stay clogged. That is because when we leave pores clogged with sebum and dead skin cells that can develop into pimples and on the long terms can lead to enlarged pores. There are many factors that can clog your pores including pollution, hormonal changes, and makeup. But, on top of that, some bad habits can cause clogged pores. So, here we share 6 bad habits that can clog your pores.

1. Not Showering After Workout: Letting all the sweat mixed with dirt sit on your skin can cause clogged pores. The perspiration left behind on your skin allows bacteria to proliferate, which can cause rashes and breakouts.

2. Skipping Exfoliation: Exfoliation is one of the best ways to remove dirt, excess oil and dead skin cells that cause clogged pores and other skin problems like acne and blemishes. You need to exfoliate once or twice a week.

3. Touching Your Face Too Often: Touching your face too often and resting your hand on your face can clog your pores. In between washings, your hands pick up all kinds of dirt, bacteria, and grease. So, when you touch your face with your dirty hands, you transfer the many bacteria, viruses, oils, allergens, and impurities from your hands to your face, which can clog your pores.

4. Talking on The Phone: If you are someone who doesn’t clean her phone regularly, talking on the phone can clog your pores. Phones collect dirt from any surface they come into contact with. Oils from the phone resting on your skin can lead to clogged pores on the side of your face with the most contact, so you need to clean your phone as often as possible to prevent accumulation of dirt and impurities on the screen.

5. Sleeping With Makeup: During the day, the makeup on your face picks up oils, dirt, bacteria and dead skin cells. If you don’t wash your makeup off at the end of the day, all that gunk builds up in your pores. Also, makeup doesn’t allow your skin to breathe, especially overnight. So never hit the bed without washing your face.

6. Sleeping on Dirty Sheets: Bed sheets and pillowcases can easily accumulate oil, dirt and dead skin, which transfers back to your skin when you are sleeping at night. This irritates the skin, clogs pores and causes acne and blemishes.
