We all loves summer as it makes us feel fresh and young but no one loves the damage it causes to our skin. The summer heat damages and darkens the skin, so we need to give a special care to our skin during summer to avoid any skin problem that can be caused due to the high temperature.

Along with applying sunscreen lotions, you can sooth your skin and minimize the damage by applying some natural face masks. These masks will help cool, repair, and nourish your skin and keep your skin smooth and clear. Here are 3 cooling face masks that will help you fight all the summer skin problems.

1. Cucumber: When it comes to cooling the skin, no natural ingredient can be more effective than cucumber. Cucumber has great properties that cool, hydrate and refresh the skin as well as fight the dark spots. Take the fresh pulp of a cucumber and add one teaspoon of yogurt in it. Mix the ingredients well and then apply this mask all over your face and neck and allow it to dry. After 30 minutes, wash off your face and pat dry it.

2. Aloe Vera: This plant is rich in enzymes, amino acids and Vitamins A, B, C and F. It helps on keeping the skin hydrated and it soothes irritation as well as helps in reducing tan. Mix about four tablespoons of aloe vera flesh with two tablespoons of plain yogurt to form a paste. The yogurt’s lactic acid will help dislodge dirt and dead skin cells for a deep cleanse, while the aloe will calm your skin down. Apply a thick layer to the face and neck. Rinse off after about 10 to 15 minutes.

On the other hand, turmeric is effective in treating breakouts and rashes that are often caused by summer heat. Blend a handful of fresh mint leaves with about 50ml of water to form a fine paste. Mix in one teaspoon of turmeric powder. After leaving it on your face for about 10 to 15 minutes, you may want to wash your skin with a mild soap cleanser to remove any lingering turmeric smells.
