A wise man once said, “There are people who have a weight problem, and then there are the other people”. So, whether you are one of those who suffer, or one of those who don’t, you must have come across the issue of eating whatever you want, but – miraculously enough – not putting on weight.
However, what people do not know is that those who do not put on weight, do not necessarily have the metabolism of grade-schoolers, but rather some habits that help in making them able to keep their weight in check. These habits are:
1- They do not diet. They hate the word with the temporary meaning entailed. Instead of dieting, they apply a lifelong system that makes the amount their calorie intake just enough for providing them with the energy they need only, not for putting on weight. Ruining your body’s system by going in and out of diets is what makes you fat, not the food you eat.
2- They do not eat to vent negative feelings. In other words, they are not emotional eating. If you are already eating yourself away at some problem you have, your mind will not give much attention to the food you eat. You will just eat and eat until it makes you sick. People whom you think have the metabolism of a steam engine do not eat like this. They do not even come close to food whenever they have issues. They sort them out so that they could enjoy their meals.
3- They know how to de-stress the right way. Yes, stress does make you fat, in addition to causing you several other health problems. Science has proved times and times again that even the slightest illness can be worsened and hard to treat with stress, much less something as problematic and difficult as weight loss. People who do not have weight problems were found to have several methods and strategies for distressing and the result is maintaining a healthy weight at all times.
4- “cheat days” or “free days” are not among the terminology they know. You may not believe it but there are actually average sized dishes that can have up to 2000 calories. So imagine having a so-called “cheat day” where you eat as much as you want of similar dishes! The result is putting on the double the calories you have been trying to burn for a week or more. Those who don’t have a weight problem do not go on eating calorie packed dishes until they get stomach ache. They have one bite, no more.
