Rice is a basic food item in many cultures. And many people in China, Japan, India and many other countries eat it more than once a day. However, rice can be much more than just a dietary staple. Here are some of the things you can do with rice other than cooking:
- Make a whitening face mask. Japanese women have white flawless skin in spite of living in a country with a really hot weather. That is because, they take good care of their skin and one of the natural skin treatments they apply is rice mask. Cook rice in a little bit of water until tender and then add some milk to make a paste you can apply to your face. Wash it off after 15 minutes.
- Prevent moisture from lumping the salt in your salt shaker. IT is always annoying when humidity makes salt in salt shaker lumpy and makes the holes of your salt shaker clogged. Add a few grains of rice to your salt shaker to prevent that.
- Clean bottles with long necks. A bottle with a long neck can be bothersome to clean, and you would have to get a special brush for that purpose. However, you can clean it easily by filling it to its have with some soapy water and a little bit of rice. Shake it well and it will be cleaned from inside.
- Absorbing moisture is not just important for salt. What if water got to your keyboard or cell phone? Just turn off or unplug the device, dry it with some paper towels first, and then bury it inside a heap of rice. The moisture will be absorbed by the rice and your device will – mostly – be fixed.
- It can be a fun tool for entertainment for your children. They can color it, use it in DIY crafts, glue it to cardboards and fill their toy trucks with it.
