I am not one of those people who consider “decoration with fabrics” to be limited to decorating with curtains only. For me, decorating with fabrics is furnishing with anything that has fabric as a part of its materials and that means fabric covered furniture, curtains, linens and covers, and even things such as wallpaper made of fabric. To excel at decorating with fabric, you have to keep a few tips in mind, such as:
- To give your place a touch of elegance spread a few embroidered cushions. Make sure you choose your cushions’ prints and colors to suit the ambiance of the room and the style of your furniture (for example: bold colors can add a refreshing touch to a minimalistic design room)
- If you are decorating a bedroom, you must consider linens and covers a part of your decorations. If you are suffering from the “space” issue just like the majority of people, linens and covers in soft pastel colors can give your bedroom area a space maximizing effect.
- A little bit of neutralism in your color choice can class up any room in the world. Shades or brown, white, black or grey will suit any décor or motif.
- Remember that different textures and fabrics can give the same color different levels of elegance. However, different textures and fabrics may not suit one certain style or design. For example, you won’t see a lavish velvet curtain in a contemporary room, right?
- Who says fabric cannot be a part of your wall decorations? Canvases, for example, can always give any room a certain nostalgic charm. Canvases are also one of the greatest methods of decorating children’s bedrooms.
