How did the old saying go? Cleanliness is next to godliness? We all know how important it is to keep our places clean and how important is cleaning for hygiene, but the reasons for making a space clean goes far beyond hygiene or making it look neat. Here are some of these reasons:
- Cleaning your place often means the surfaces have less amount of germs. Door knobs, table tops, chairs…etc. will have lesser amount of bacteria and fungi that can be transferred to your hands to cause you health problems.
- Lower levels of stress and bigger chance of venting stress. Many researches have attested to the validity of these two things. Cleaning your house is an effective method of venting out your stress. Residents of cluttered houses suffer from higher levels of stress compare to those with clean uncluttered houses.
- No more accidents or safety hazards. It is common for those who live in cluttered places to trip over things or go through things such as electrocution or pets consuming chemicals or things thrown around. Also, their tools and machines do not remain functional for long periods as they are not used or stored safely and practically after use.
- You will be healthier. Keeping an area clean means a lot of bending, moving, squatting and many other types of exercise. We don’t consider the movements we make while cleaning an exercise, but they are.
- No more allergies or skin infections. Cleaning your place often means washing the sheets and covers often enough to prevent the development of bacteria and fungi in them. Vacuuming often means no pet dander, no pollen and no dirt that can cause allergies.
